Carollo has completed planning, design, construction and startup for over 200 wastewater treatment plants with flows ranging from less than 1 mgd to over 300 mgd. In the past ten years, Carollo has led in the design of “high-tech” treatment processes such as biological nutrient removal, effluent filtration and ultraviolet disinfection necessary for producing the quality of effluent required for various effluent reuses and groundwater recharge.
Specific experience includes the design of: headworks facilities, including influent screening, grit removal, and pumping; primary clarification; secondary treatment utilizing biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal; disinfection using chlorine gas, sodium hypochlorite, and UV light; biosolids pumping, thickening, digestion, dewatering, and reuse; digester gas reuse; odor control processes; reuse facilities; and recharge, including rapid infiltration ponds and vadose zone wells.
Carollo has designed many types of water reclamation facilities with various process components. We are not tied to a specific process; we are dedicated to designing a plant that exceeds effluent quality expectations, maintains acceptable initial capital costs, and provides the operational flexibility required.
