Golden Gate Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant Expansion - Phase III

Florida Government Utility Authority,

Golden Gate Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant Expansion - Phase III

Project Highlights:
  • Expansion of RO WTP to 0.875-mgd
  • Design/build project delivery
Golden Gate RO WTP
Carollo provided engineering services for the design/build expansion of the Golden Gate RO Water Treatment Plant.

The Golden Gate Water Treatment Plant is located in southwest Florida, approximately six miles east of the City of Naples, southwest of the intersection of County Roads 886 (Golden Gate Parkway) and 951 (Isle of Capri Road) in Collier County. The Golden Gate WTP consists of a 1.744 mgd lime softening and RO water treatment facility. The facility provides potable water to the Golden Gate community. The current capacity of the plant is 1.744 mgd of product water. The Golden Gate WTP is supplied with raw water from a series of shallow, surficial aquifer wells, and two lower Tamiami aquifer wells.

The Phase III expansion consists of the addition of:

  • 0.375 mgd of product water capacity in the form of an expansion to the existing RO Plant from 0.5-mgd to 0.875-mgd
  • Three new well pumps for existing wells 3, 4, and 8

The plant expansion supplements the existing lime softening and RO treatment processes for a total plant capacity of 2.119 mgd. An existing construction permit was in place to allow the expansion to occur without replacing or upgrading the standby power system. Harn R/O Systems was selected to be the design/build contractor for the delivery of the Phase III Expansion, and Carollo Engineers provided engineering services related to the delivery of this expansion.
