- Carollo has embarked on a journey toward
sustainability because:

Carollo’s Board adopted a company-wide Sustainability Policy in January 2008. The Policy outlines a triple bottom line approach, whereby Carollo will:
“...strive to incorporate environmental, social, and economic considerations into decision-making processes for both client projects and internal business operations.”

Our long-term vision is to weave sustainability into the very fabric of Carollo so that it becomes a regular part of everyone’s daily activities.
We have mapped our company’s impacts and areas of influence, developed a vision of our organization as fully sustainable, and developed goals and strategies to move us toward achieving that vision. The results of this process are outlined in our 2009 Sustainability Report – we invite you to take a look!

Where We've Been
We began walking this path a number of years ago, driven by interested employees. First, we sensitized our employees to the drivers of UNsustainability – narrowly focused decision-making and delayed or non-existent feedback loops, growth in human population and levels of consumption, and use of fossil and toxic resources.
This fueled internal practices,including:
• Recycling;
• Commute reduction strategies;
• Use of "green" Materials in our office buildouts.
Externally, we have been fortunate to work with clients interested in advancing sustainable performance on their projects, and have developed valuable expertise in:
• Multi-criteria decision analysis that considers triple bottom line criteria;
• Process optimization that analyzes the whole system rather than focusing on discrete parts;
• Energy efficiency, recovery and renewable technologies; and
• Green building techniques.
We will continue to learn and improve our sustainability performance over time...and we hope that you will join us on our journey!
